Objective

A new game by Hank Green. Organize the grid into four thematic groups of three words each, one word is reused in every group.

Playlin'sGuide

4 Γ— 3 (Four by Three) is a daily word game by Hank Green where your mission is to sort 9 words into four categories of three, but exactly one word in the set belongs to all four groups.

You're presented with a grid of jumbled words. Your job is to figure out which words share a hidden theme, submit them as a group, and repeat until all four categories are revealed. The twist? One word appears to fit into every single category you find.

  • Select three words you think share a category and submit.
  • A correct group locks in and clears from the grid.
  • Keep going until all four categories are solved.
  • The final reveal shows you which word connected all four groups and how.
  • You can shuffle the grid or deselect words as you puzzle it out.
  • A new puzzle drops every day.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…That moment when the linking word clicks into place is deeply satisfying.
  • βœ…Short enough to solve in a coffee break, tricky enough to make you think.
  • βœ…Created by Hank Green, so you know the wordplay is clever and the themes are sharp.

Hint: Don't rush to find the special word first. Solve the 4x3 categories you're confident about, and the connector will reveal itself as the odd one out in what remains.
