Playlin'sGuide
Afterglow is a daily memory puzzle where you study five colors shown one at a time, then recreate each from memory using HSB sliders.
Each round begins with a color filling your screen for a few seconds. It disappears. Your job is to rebuild that exact shade by adjusting three sliders: Hue, Saturation, and Brightness. Lock it in, see how close you got, then move to the next color.
- You see five colors total, one per round.
- Each color appears briefly, then vanishes.
- Rebuild it using Hue, Saturation, and Brightness sliders.
- Each round scores up to 10 points based on accuracy.
- Perfect memory across all five rounds nets you 50 points.
- Everyone gets the same five colors each day.
The closer your reconstruction matches the original, the higher your score. Nail the hue but miss the brightness, and you'll still lose points. Get everything wrong, and the gap shows.
Why we like it:
- β Tests a surprisingly specific skill you didn't know you had.
- β Five rounds means it's over in under two minutes.
- β Watching your score climb as your color memory improves is genuinely rewarding.
Hint: Don't just stare passively at the color. Mentally label it as you watch. "Dusty coral, mid saturation, darker than pastel." Giving it words helps your brain file it away.
