Objective

Spell five increasingly difficult words by listening to their pronunciation; advance only if you type each one perfectly.

Playlin'sGuide

Beeswax is a daily spelling bee that reads five words aloud and challenges you to type them correctly. Each word gets progressively harder, and a single wrong letter ends your round immediately.

You start at Word 1 of 5. The game pronounces the word for you. Type what you hear. If you nail it, you move to the next word. If you miss a letter, your day is over and you see your score. Simple premise, serious tension.

  • Listen to the word, then type it out letter by letter.
  • Tap for hints: definition, sentence usage, language of origin, and part of speech, all spoken aloud.
  • You have 2 minutes per word.
  • One wrong letter ends the entire round. No second chances.
  • Words get harder as you go. Word 1 is gentle. Word 5 is ruthless.
  • Both American and British spellings are accepted. Color or colour, either works.

Why we like it:

  • The audio-first format feels like a real championship bee, not a typing test.
  • That escalating difficulty makes getting all five words genuinely thrilling.
  • One mistake and you're out, so every letter carries weight.

Hint: Use the hints liberally on tougher words. Language of origin is especially useful. Greek roots love their y's and ph's, while French loves silent letters.
