Objective

Find the shortest sequence of moves to checkmate the computer's king on a 6x6 chess board.

Playlin'sGuide

Chess Attack is a daily chess puzzle from Sporcle Games where your mission is to checkmate the computer on a 6×6 board in as few moves as possible.

Each puzzle presents a simplified chess position with fewer pieces and a smaller board than standard chess. Your job is to find the fastest route to checkmate. The tighter board means fewer escape squares and quicker tactical wins, but also less room for error.

  • The board is a condensed 6×6 instead of the standard 8×8.
  • Pieces move according to standard chess rules.
  • Find checkmate in the minimum number of moves.
  • Fewer moves mean a better score.
  • A new puzzle drops every day.

Why we like it:

  • The compact board makes puzzles faster and more focused than full chess problems.
  • You don't need to be a grandmaster to enjoy finding a clean checkmate.
  • Sharpens your tactical vision without the commitment of a full game.

Hint: Start by identifying which enemy pieces can block or defend the king. Eliminating those defenders first often clears the path to a quick mate.
