Playlin'sGuide
Chessguessr is a daily chess puzzle where your goal is to guess the next five moves played in a real game.
You are shown a position from a chess match and must predict the exact continuation that was played. After each guess, the tiles provide feedback to show how close you are to the correct sequence.
Color hints help guide your next guess:
- π©Green means the move is correct and in the correct position.
- π¨Yellow means the move appears in the sequence but in a different position.
- π¦Blue means the correct piece type moved in that spot, but the move itself is different.
- β¬Gray means the move is not part of the solution.
The notation must match exactly. Even small differences like checks or captures count as different moves.
A new position appears every day, challenging you to think like the players who actually played the game.
Why we like it:
- β A clever mix of chess tactics and Wordle-style deduction.
- β Makes you think about real game continuations, not just single tactics.
- β Great practice for improving calculation and pattern recognition.
Hint: Start by looking for forcing moves such as checks, captures, and strong threats. Those often appear early in real game continuations.
