Objective

Change one letter at a time to transform the start word into the goal word, using only valid words with each move.

Playlin'sGuide

CraftWord is a daily word transformation puzzle where your mission is to morph a start word into a goal word by changing one letter at a time, creating valid words with every move, in as few steps as possible.

Each puzzle gives you a starting word and a target. Your job is to plot a path between them by swapping letters to form new valid words. The challenge is doing it efficiently. Every intermediate step must be a real word, so you need both vocabulary depth and strategic foresight.

  • Change one letter at a time to create a new valid word.
  • Keep transforming until you reach the goal word.
  • Fewer moves earn a better score.
  • Three rounds per daily puzzle.
  • Rare or uncommon words are tracked separately for vocabulary bragging rights.

Why we like it:

  • Rewards planning ahead instead of just reacting to what's in front of you.
  • Short enough to knock out in a few minutes but deep enough to make you think.
  • That rare word dopamine hit when you find an obscure connector nobody else thought of.

Hint: Before your first move, scan both words for shared letters and their positions. Building from common ground saves moves. If you're stuck, try working backward from the goal.
