Playlin'sGuide
Jaardle is a daily year-guessing game where your mission is to identify when a set of historic events happened using 6 guesses and a trail of clues.
You start with a single event. Type a year. Each wrong guess gives you a colored badge showing how close you are, plus a new bonus fact from the same year to help you triangulate. The closer you get, the more you learn.
- Type any year to guess. BC years use a minus sign.
- Each guess shows your distance with a color code: green means exact, purple is 1 or 2 years off, yellow is 3 to 10, and so on up to black for 600+ years away.
- After guesses 1 and 2, you automatically unlock a bonus fact from the same year.
- Need more help? Reveal paid hints like the century, the last digit, or events from 100 to 1500 years later. Each costs points.
- You can request up to 2 direction hints per puzzle to see whether you need to guess higher or lower.
- Score out of 100. Closer guesses cost fewer points. Nailing it first try is perfection.
- One daily puzzle for everyone, plus endless free play mode.
Why we like it:
- β Spans all of human history, from ancient dynasties to modern milestones.
- β The bonus facts turn every guess into a mini history lesson.
- β Strategic hint spending adds a layer of risk and reward.
Hint: Anchor yourself with centuries first. If you see "Ptolemy" or "Cleopatra II," you're deep BC. If it's a tech company going public, you're late 1900s or 2000s. Narrow the era before you fine tune the decade.
