Objective

Choose a difficulty, guess a language, and use feedback on region, family, and speaker count to find the daily answer.

Playlin'sGuide

Linguistle challenges you to identify a mystery language each day, not by its script or sound, but through clues about its characteristics and where in the world it's spoken.

Each puzzle gives you a difficulty tier to pick before you start. Guess a language, and you'll get feedback pointing you toward the answer, much like classic Wordle deduction but applied to linguistics instead of letters.

  • Choose a difficulty. Easy covers languages with over 40 million speakers, Normal covers over 10 million, and Hard ranges from 1 to 50 million speakers.
  • Type a language name to guess.
  • Use the feedback from each guess to narrow down region, family, and speaker count.
  • A new mystery language drops daily, with new modes and games planned for the future.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…It teaches real geography and linguistics, not just trivia.
  • βœ…The tiered difficulty means both casual players and language nerds have a reason to play.
  • βœ…Every guess is a small lesson in how the world's languages connect.

Hint: Start broad. Nail down the region or language family first, then use speaker count to separate close contenders within that group.
