Metaflora

Metaflora is a daily botanical guessing game where your mission is to identify a Mystery Plant by navigating the evolutionary tree of the plant kingdom in 25 guesses or fewer.

Each puzzle challenges you to name a specific plant species. When you guess wrong, the game shows you where your guess sits on the taxonomic tree relative to the answer. The closer your guess is evolutionarily, the more branches you share, which means more clues about the Mystery Plant.

• Type any plant name to make a guess.
• Each guess reveals its taxonomic relationship to the Mystery Plant (kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species).
• Shared branches mean you're getting warmer. The more taxonomy in common, the closer you are.
• A visual tree builds as you guess, showing how all your attempts relate to each other and the answer.
• You have 25 guesses to identify the Mystery Plant.
• One new Mystery Plant drops every day.

Think of it as 20 Questions meets evolutionary biology. If the answer is tomato and you guess potato, you'll learn they share a family (Solanaceae), putting you on the right track. Guess oak instead, and you'll only share deeper, broader categories.
