Mosaic is a daily nonogram puzzle from Inkwell Games where you use number clues to reveal a hidden pixel-art picture.
The numbers beside each row and above each column tell you the lengths of its shaded blocks. Your job is to work out where those blocks fit, using the intersecting clues to determine which cells must be shaded or empty. Every puzzle can be solved through pure logic.
We recommend you play the quick, interactive Mosaic tutorial on Inkwell Games to learn how to play the nonogram puzzle.
- Tap a cell to shade it. Tap again to mark it with an X when you know it should be empty.
- Each number represents a consecutive block of shaded cells.
- Multiple numbers describe separate blocks in order, read left to right across rows and top to bottom down columns.
- Leave at least one empty cell between separate blocks.
- For example, 1 2 means one shaded cell followed by a block of two shaded cells, with at least one empty cell between them.
- Complete the grid to uncover the picture.
A new puzzle arrives each day, with difficulty building through the week: easy Monday through Wednesday, medium Thursday through Saturday, and hard on Sunday.
Why we like it:
- β Each deduction brings a hidden picture closer to view.
- β Pure logic gives you a way forward without guessing.
- β The weekly difficulty progression offers an approachable start and a tougher Sunday challenge.
Hint: Start with rows or columns whose blocks and required gaps fill the entire line. A five-cell row with a 2 2 clue can only be two shaded cells, one empty cell, and two shaded cells.
