Name Chain is a daily name puzzle where your mission is to connect two famous people whose names overlap. The last name of the first person is the first name of the second, creating a single continuous chain.
Each puzzle gives you clues to identify both people. You might see "She's an American actress" and "He is an American entertainer." Your job is to figure out who they are and how their names link. For example, Andrew Jackson and Jackson Pollock chain into Andrew Jackson Pollock.
- You start with a single clue for each person in the chain.
- Type your guess. Each wrong answer automatically reveals the next clue.
- The goal is to solve it in as few clues as possible.
- Enter the shared connecting name in the middle box. Multi-part names go in a single box.
- Chains can include real people or fictional characters.
- A new puzzle drops every day, all written by hand without AI.
Why we like it:
- ✅That aha moment when the overlapping name clicks is pure satisfaction.
- ✅Spans history, pop culture, fiction, and more for delightful variety.
- ✅Quick enough to finish in one sitting but tricky enough to earn the win.
Hint: If you're stuck on the first clue, think about common surnames that also work as first names. Names like Jackson, Taylor, or Jordan are prime connectors and can help you reverse engineer the chain.
