Objective

Guess proper nouns and use their semantic similarity rankings to identify the daily mystery answer.

Playlin'sGuide

Nounable is a daily word puzzle where your mission is to identify a mystery proper noun by gauging how semantically close your guesses are to the target.

The proper noun could be anything famous: a person, place, brand, movie, landmark, or historical event. You type a guess, and the game returns a similarity rank. The closer your rank is to #1, the closer you are to the answer.

  • Type any proper noun as your guess.
  • Each guess gets a rank showing how semantically similar it is to the answer. The answer itself is always rank #1.
  • 1 to 300: You're very close.
  • 300 to 1,000: Getting warmer.
  • 1,000 to 5,000: Cold.
  • 5,000+: Far off.
  • Stuck? Use a hint to reveal a guess closer to the answer. Hints cost escalating points: +2, +4, +6, and so on.
  • A new proper noun drops every day.

It's similar to Contexto but with proper nouns.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…The similarity ranking system feels like hot and cold with a satisfying numerical edge.
  • βœ…Broad enough to pull from pop culture, geography, history, and more, so every puzzle feels fresh.
  • βœ…That moment when a wildly different guess suddenly ranks under 100 and everything clicks.

Hint: Start broad. Guess a category anchor like a country, a decade, or a major cultural figure. Once you find something that ranks under 1,000, pivot and explore that semantic neighborhood.
