Scrimp

Scrimp is a daily word-packing puzzle where your mission is to fit every clued word into the shortest possible row of tiles by making them share letters.

You get a row of empty tiles and a set of clues. Every answer must appear in that row, reading left to right. There are never enough tiles to write the words out one after another. The only way they all fit is if they overlap.

Type straight into the row. When a word lands in its correct position, it locks in green and stays there for good. Your job is to figure out which words go where and lock them all in.

• You see a clue, a first letter, and a word length for each answer.
• Words must overlap to fit into the limited tiles.
• A correct word in the wrong spot shows a striped bar. Slide it and try again.
• Every tile can be typed once for free, plus one full word's worth of changes.
• After that, extra typing costs points from your daily pot.
• The pot starts at 400 on Monday and climbs to 1,000 on Sunday.
• Play all seven days without losing a single point to earn a weekly bonus.

Your score builds into a rank that climbs as long as you keep playing. The game rewards thinking over trial and error.
