Objective

Listen to a short audio clip and fill in the artist name, song title, and release year in a single guess.

Playlin'sGuide

Songdle is a daily music quiz where your mission is to identify a mystery song by guessing the artist, title, and release year from a short audio clip.

A clip plays automatically when you load the puzzle. You get one guess to nail all three fields: who made it, what it's called, and when it came out. No multiple tries, no reveals. Just your ears and your music memory.

  • Listen to a short clip that plays on repeat.
  • Fill in three fields: Artist, Title, and Year.
  • Autocomplete helps with artist names, and partial or close spellings still earn credit.
  • Each field is scored out of 10 points for a max daily total of 30.
  • Exact matches give you full points. Typos, partial answers, or near misses earn scaled credit.
  • A new song drops every day.

You can play anonymously or log in to claim your score on the leaderboard. There's also a practice mode to hone your skills outside the daily puzzle.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…The partial credit system rewards music knowledge even when you can't quite nail the exact spelling.
  • βœ…One clip, one chance keeps it quick and high stakes.
  • βœ…Spans decades and genres, so every day tests a different corner of your music brain.

Hint: If the artist name escapes you, focus on nailing the year first. Decades have distinct production styles, and narrowing the era can jog your memory for who was big at the time.
