Objective

Listen to each of five spoken words and type the correct spelling within three attempts, using letter feedback to guide your guesses.

Playlin'sGuide

Spellotic is a daily spelling challenge where you hear five words spoken aloud and have three attempts to spell each one correctly.

Each round gives you a word read out loud, a definition to guide you, and three chances to get the spelling right. Type your answer and press Enter. If you're wrong, you get letter feedback showing what's correct, what's in the word but misplaced, and what's not there at all.

  • Hit play to hear the word. You can replay it once per word.
  • The definition stays visible the whole time.
  • You have 3 attempts per word.
  • Letter feedback works like Wordle: green for correct placement, yellow for wrong spot, gray for not in the word.
  • Hard mode hides letter clues after a wrong attempt, forcing you to rely on memory.

Why we like it:

  • Hearing the words adds a layer of challenge that pure text puzzles can't match.
  • Five words is just enough to feel accomplished without overstaying its welcome.
  • The scoring system rewards first try wins but doesn't punish you for learning as you go.

Hint: Use your replay strategically. Listen once before guessing if you're confident, or save it for after the first clue when you know which letters to focus on.
