Terraformation

Terraformation is a daily logic puzzle where you terraform a hex grid by placing three terrain types according to strict pattern and row constraints.

You're given a zone of hexagons that must be filled with three different terrain types: lakes, habitats, and one more that varies by planet. Each puzzle comes with two kinds of rules you must satisfy simultaneously.

First, the row requirements. In three diagonal directions, each row tells you how many hexes of each terrain type appear and how they're grouped. "2 1" means two of that type grouped together, then one alone, in that order. "0" means none of that type in that row.

Second, the pattern requirements. Two of the three terrain types must form specific shapes shown in the guide. These can be rotated or mirrored, but not altered. One terrain type can be placed freely. Some patterns must not touch each other, marked with a symbol in the guide. Others may touch.

• Click a hex to cycle through terrain types, or use color mode to set a specific type.
• Right click to cycle backwards.
• Fill the entire grid following both the row counts and the allowed patterns.

Hint: Start by placing the most restrictive patterns first, like two rows that have intersecting 0's where the intersection must be the non-zero terrain type.
