Playlin'sGuide
Typeshift is a daily word puzzle where you slide columns of letters up and down to spell words across a single row, with the goal of using every letter at least once to complete the puzzle.
You're presented with several vertical columns, each containing a stack of letters. Drag any column up or down to change which letters line up horizontally. When the row spells a valid word, it registers automatically. Your mission is to find enough words to light up every letter in every column.
- Drag columns up or down to align letters into words.
- Valid words are detected automatically when spelled in the row.
- Core words are the main solutions needed to progress.
- Additional words are bonus finds that also count toward completion.
- The puzzle is solved when every letter has been used at least once.
- Some puzzles include a highlighted row with a trickier word to find.
- A new puzzle drops every day.
Why we like it:
- β The sliding mechanic feels more tactile and playful than a traditional crossword.
- β Short enough to solve in a few minutes, but clever enough to make you think.
- β Hunting for bonus words after solving the core puzzle is oddly satisfying.
Hint: Start by hunting for common short words to get letters highlighted, then focus on the unhighlighted letters. Those unused letters often belong to longer or less obvious words hiding in the columns.
