Inkwell Games Launches Mosaic, a Daily Picture Puzzle and Its Most Welcoming Game Yet
Carbondale, CO, October 1, 2026. Indie puzzle studio Inkwell Games today announced that Mosaic, the newest addition to its lineup of daily browser puzzles, will leave early access and launch publicly on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at inkwellgames.com/games/mosaic.
Mosaic is Inkwell’s take on nonograms (also known as Picross), a classic Japanese logic puzzle that has been around since the 1980s. Players use number clues on each row and column to work out which squares to fill. Solve it, and the grid reveals a hand crafted pixel-art image of an everyday object or scene. Figuring out what the picture is can be its own second puzzle, though players can always click to reveal it.
It’s also Inkwell’s gentlest game. Grids range from 5x5 to 15x15 and grow harder through the week, but even Sundays offer a satisfying challenge without the head-banging of Inkwell’s other weekend puzzles.. That makes Mosaic a natural gateway for anyone who has found logic grid puzzles overwhelming.

Plus, when you finish, you get a tiny piece of art.”
Since new puzzles unlock across the week, players who arrive on launch day can play four puzzles right away, Monday through Thursday. Mosaic joins Stars, Fields and Loopy River in Inkwell’s portfolio and has been in early access for subscribers since late August.
