Twelve weeks in, the chart shows a daily games scene that's bigger and busier than most people realize.
Bozeman, Mont., September 29, 2026. Since July, Playlin has published the Playlin 40 every Monday, ranking the 40 most popular daily web games on Playlin that week. It launched with nine weeks of retrospective rankings going back to May. The chart exists mainly to make one thing easier to see, which is that daily games didn’t stop at Wordle.
Most people can name two or three daily games. Playlin lists more than 1,000, nearly all free to play and most of them made by one or two people. The Playlin 40 gives that scene a weekly pulse. Games debut, climb, hold on and drop off, and each one is credited to the people who made it.
“Daily games have a visibility problem,” said Craig Dugas, founder of Playlin. “Most people know one or two and assume that’s the whole category. There are hundreds more out there, mostly made by individuals, and people are playing them. The chart just makes that visible every week.”
The chart publishes Mondays at 9 a.m. ET at playlin.io/charts. Rankings are based on launches and favorites from Playlin players. To be eligible, a game has to be free, require no account, and reset daily. Activity from paid placements on Playlin doesn’t count toward the chart. The full methodology is at playlin.io/charts/how-it-works, and the chart also goes out as a free weekly email.
