Objective

Answer five definition clues with English words, aiming to use the fewest distinct letters across all five.

Playlin'sGuide

Letterkin is a daily word puzzle where your mission is to solve five clues using as few different letters as possible.

Each clue has a short definition, and you can tackle them in any order. Type a word, check how many new letters it would cost, then lock it in. Repeated letters are free, so the trick is choosing answers that reuse the same small pool of letters. A tracker shows your running total, and an editor's target gives you a score to beat.

  • Pick any clue and type a single English word of at least three letters.
  • Check the new-letter cost before you submit.
  • Accepted answers lock for good. You can't change them or use the same word twice.
  • Invalid answers don't lock or add letters, so there's no penalty for a bad try.
  • Finish all five clues. A lower final score is better.
  • There's no timer, and your daily progress is saved in your browser.
  • Share your score without spoiling your answers, or play a practice edition for another round.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…Every word choice is a small strategic trade-off between the right answer and the cheapest one.
  • βœ…No timer, so you can take your time hunting for words that overlap.
  • βœ…Practice editions let you keep experimenting after the daily is done.

Hint: Start with common letters like E, A, and R, and look for clues whose answers can share them. Lock the clue with the fewest possible answers last, so you can pick a word that fits the letters you've already used.
