The Daily Cryptic

The Daily Cryptic is a daily cryptic crossword puzzle where your mission is to crack a single cryptic clue and uncover the hidden answer.

Unlike traditional crossword clues, cryptic clues are puzzles within themselves. Each one contains a definition and wordplay that lead to the same answer. Your job is to decode both halves and figure out the word.

• You get one cryptic clue per day.
• Type your answer and check if you're right.
• Stuck? Unlock hints one at a time to nudge you toward the solution.
• Each hint costs a reveal, and the game tracks your "Press Par" (how many hints the editors think you'll need).
• A notepad is provided for working out anagrams, letter substitutions, and other cryptic mechanics.
• Solve it to keep your streak alive and file another story at your virtual newspaper desk.

The clues rotate through different cryptic types: anagrams, hidden words, reversals, substitutions, and more. Some days are gentle. Others will have you staring at seven letters for far too long.
