Objective

Fill the 4x4 grid with letters so that each row and column spells a valid word, and the grid reads identically horizontally and vertically.

Playlin'sGuide

AnaSquare is a daily word grid puzzle where your mission is to fill a 4Γ—4 grid so that every row and every column spells a valid word, and the grid reads the same across as it does down.

You start with a few grey tiles already filled in as hints. Your job is to complete the grid by typing letters into the empty spaces, creating an anagram square where horizontal and vertical words match perfectly.

  • Click or tap any tile to select it, or use arrow keys to navigate.
  • Grey tiles are given letters. They're locked in place and can't be changed.
  • Type letters to fill the empty tiles.
  • Press Enter or tap Submit to check your answer.
  • Green tiles are correct. Red tiles are wrong and clear automatically so you can try again.
  • You have 3 attempts to solve the grid.
  • If you don't get it by the third try, the solution is revealed.
  • A new puzzle drops every day.

Why we like it:

  • βœ…It's a elegant twist on word puzzles that makes you think in two directions at once.
  • βœ…Three attempts is just forgiving enough without making it too easy.
  • βœ…The symmetry of a completed grid is deeply satisfying.

Hint: Start with the rows or columns that have the most grey tiles already filled in. Those constraints will help you narrow down possibilities and give you anchor points for the rest of the grid.
