Identify three sequences that follow Fibonacci-like rules connected by one number.
Playlin'sGuide
Knotilus is a daily number puzzle where you must uncover three Fibonacci-style sequences hidden among ten numbers.
Each valid sequence:
- Has four numbers in increasing order.
- Follows the pattern where each number (starting from the third) equals the sum of the previous two.
- Shares one special number "the knot" that appears in all three sequences.
Your goal: find the three correct sequences that use every number exactly once.
How to play:
- Tap four numbers to propose a sequence (see example below).
- Valid ones lock in automatically.
- When youโve found three sequences, you can click on the "knot" number that connects them. This is simply the common number between all sequences.
- You may also continue to find all sequences before identifying the knot.
- Optional: toggle Easy (visual cues) or Hard (no hints) before starting.
Example answer:
A valid sequence would be: 2, 15, 17, 32
This works because:
- 2 + 15 = 17
- 15 + 17 = 32
Why we like it:
- โ Elegant blend of logic, math, and pattern recognition.
- โ The "knot" mechanic adds depth.
- โ Feels fresh every day, part Fibonacci, part logic, all brain-tingling fun.
Hint: If you're stuck, pick a larger number and then scan for two smaller ones that add up to it.
