Playlin'sGuide
Squardle is a daily word puzzle where you solve a 5x5 grid containing 6 interlocking words using colored letter clues that show whether your guessed letters belong in specific squares, rows, or columns.
Each puzzle presents an empty grid with marked starting positions for words reading across and down. Type five letter guesses to fill them in. The game responds with colored hints placed directly on the grid: green means the letter belongs in that exact square, yellow and red point along rows or columns where the letter appears, white means it's somewhere on the board, and black means it's not on the board at all.
- Guess any valid five letter word to generate clues.
- Green hints lock letters into their correct squares.
- Yellow, red, and orange hints point to letters that belong in that row or column.
- White hints mean the letter appears somewhere on the grid.
- Black hints eliminate letters entirely.
- Click hints to fade or hide them as you work through the puzzle.
- Solve all six words to complete the daily challenge.
The puzzle tracks your guess count and completion time. You can customize the experience heavily through settings: auto hide certain hint colors, adjust hint sizes, enable colorblind friendly modes, and toggle advanced keyboard clues that show which letters can't be placed in your next guess direction.
Why we like it:
- β The spatial logic feels fresh compared to linear word games.
- β Deep customization options let you dial the difficulty and visual noise up or down.
- β Watching the grid fill in as hints multiply creates genuine puzzle satisfaction.
Hint: Start by fading hints as you use them. Information overload is real when colored dots pile up. Focus on solving the words with the most green hints first, then use those locked letters to crack the intersecting words.
